Tommy Orange is a Cheyenne and Arapaho author whose debut "There There" was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and won the PEN/Hemingway Award. The novel follows twelve characters at the Big Oakland Powwow, giving voice to urban Native American life.

His follow-up "Wandering Stars" (2024) continues the story while weaving in historical narratives of Native American resilience.
