T.C. Cannon (1946-1978) was a Caddo and Kiowa painter who, alongside Fritz Scholder, helped launch the contemporary Native American art movement. Despite dying at 31, his pop-art-influenced paintings of modern Native subjects continue to influence artists today.

A Vietnam War veteran, his work is in the Smithsonian and the Denver Art Museum. A major retrospective toured nationally in 2018.
