Sterlin Harjo (born November 14, 1979) is a Seminole Nation citizen and Muscogee descendant from Holdenville, Oklahoma. He is a director, producer, and screenwriter who co-created the groundbreaking FX series "Reservation Dogs" with Taika Waititi — the first television series to feature an entirely Indigenous writers room and predominantly Indigenous cast and crew. The show ran for three acclaimed seasons (2021–2023) and was set in rural Oklahoma, telling the story of four Indigenous teenagers. Before "Reservation Dogs," Harjo directed several award-winning independent films including "Four Sheets to the Wind" (2007), "Barking Water" (2009), "Mekko" (2015), and "Love and Fury" (2021). He is a Sundance veteran and one of the most important Indigenous filmmakers working today.
