Raye Zaragoza (born April 16, 1993) is an Akimel O'odham (Pima) folk singer-songwriter and activist from New York City, now based in Los Angeles. Her protest anthem "In the River" (2016), written in response to the Standing Rock pipeline protests, went viral and established her as a fearless voice for Indigenous rights. Zaragoza's albums "Fight for You" (2017), "Woman in Color" (2020), and "Hold That Spirit" (2024) blend folk, Americana, and Indigenous musical traditions with lyrics about identity, environmental justice, and empowerment. She was named one of "8 Artists Shaping the Future of Protest Music" by the Grammy Museum. Zaragoza is also an advocate for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women movement.
