Jim Thorpe (Wa-Tho-Huk, meaning "Bright Path") is widely considered the greatest athlete of the 20th century. A member of the Sac and Fox Nation, Thorpe won two Olympic gold medals at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, played professional football, baseball, and basketball, and was the first president of the NFL.

His Olympic medals were controversially stripped in 1913 but were fully restored in 2022. He was named the "Greatest Athlete of the First Half of the 20th Century" by the Associated Press. The town of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania is named in his honor.
